All it took was one trip to Cameroon, West Africa, for Maureen Bartelt to decide she needed to help end the water crisis. After hearing a Wellspring representative speak at her church about their mission, Maureen was eager to serve on the board. She had found the perfect tool to help give back to all the gracious and loving people she had met during her time in Cameroon. She was aware that everyone is her neighbor, and felt that she could no longer standby and not reach out to try and help her neighbors. Maureen felt that Wellspring’s mission of providing life-giving water to people all around the world was a tangible way for her to make a difference in ending the water crisis.
Maureen’s passion for serving on the Wellspring Board is renewed everyday when she thinks about how her children interact with water. She wholeheartedly wishes that every child would one day be able to walk over to the faucet, turn it on, and use it without thinking twice about it. She believes that children all around the world are just like hers. In Maureen’s eyes, that means every one of them deserves a fighting chance at a bright future, and water is that future.
Maureen has two wonderful children, Jack and Jemma, with her husband Jess. They enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, playing dress-up, Lego’s, and especially baseball.
