This young girl from Ghana was just one of many in her village that was forced to walk many miles each day, only to be forced to drink unsanitary water. Take a minuet to let this picture sink in. Many around the world can’t even imagine drinking water like this from a dirty, disease filled, stream. For some this is all they have. Help Wellspring for the World change this by bringing a promising future to children like these. It is not uncommon for young girls to have to quit school so that they can stay home and help their mothers gather water for their families. Girls such as the one pictured above start fetching water from a very young age. With your help, Wellspring for the World is able to build wells in developing countries such as the one this young girl lives in. That means that more girls are able to go to school, giving them an overall better way of life. These are the faces of children before they received a well from Wellspring for the World. It is not uncommon for many children to die before the age of five due to the unsanitary water they are forced to drink. A well can mean the difference between life and death for many of these children. A young boy in Ghana, Africa, leans on his father as they patiently await a new well from Wellspring for the World. Children such as these will now be able to go to school, and stay healthier because of the clean water they have access to. This young girl from Ghana, Africa was grateful for the well her village received from the efforts of Wellspring for the World. She will now be able to spend less time at home doing chorus, and more time just being a kid. A mother holds on to her son as they watch the well in their village being drilled. Women in communities who have access to clean water will no longer spend hours each day collecting water. They can now provide safe drinking, bathing, and cooking water to their families. Wellspring for the World has been able to offer a caring hand to hundreds of communities around the world. Sadly, the water crisis is still being fought. Some of the most heartbreaking experiences came from visiting the villages that were still suffering because they still do not have access to clean water. Wellspring for the World leaders such as Dr. Robert Agnew are passionate about what they do. Taking a trip to Ghana to see their efforts turn into actions was a rewarding and eye opening experience.
